Epic Student Leadership Team (Spring 2025)
The Epic Student Leaders are students who want to create a sense of belonging, collaborate as
a team, and become ambassadors for the world-class initiative that is the Epic Journey at
Earlham. This position requires adaptability, consistent communication, and the ability to work
with a team, along with a strong desire to learn and to make connections across campus.
Serve as Epic Student Leaders at select campus-wide and admitted student events.
Promote Epic events and opportunities at weekly tabling in Earlham Hall and/or the Runyan Center.
Participate in the creation and growth of the Epic Stories Podcast, including participating in weekly recording sessions, short video creation, and/or long-form video editing.
Strategizing and managing the Epic Journey Instagram account alongside team members, including scheduling posts, creating graphics, and writing blog posts/student spotlights.
Assist in the maintenance of groups and administration of EC Connect.
Assist in promoting to campus the value of the EC Connect and Handshake platforms for student participation in the Epic Journey and career growth.
Communication with a team of other project assistants and supervisors (emails, Zoom, Whatsapp)
Weekly one-on-ones with supervisors, biweekly team check-ins, and monthly team lunches (lunch is provided by Epic Centers and Programs).
Use the Paycom timesheet tool to accurately record work hours and submit in a timely manner.

Communication Rubric: This rubric assesses students' ability to clearly and effectively exchange information. It emphasizes active listening, clear and precise speaking, appropriate communication choices, and the ability to question assumptions.

Epic Student Leadership Audio Story/Reflection: EPIC student leaders wrote short stories reflecting on a time their teamwork and communication skills helped them succeed. These stories showed how they built strong relationships by listening actively, solving problems together, and making everyone feel included. They also highlighted how they clearly shared information, asked good questions, and chose the best way to communicate to get things done effectively.
